Eric Goldstein has a remarkable track record in the fashion industry as a brand visionary, creative director, and development expert within the specific segment of the world that imbibes the “vintage classic Americana way of life”.

He understands its heritage, its romance, and its values, with exceptional insights into the lifestyle, the philosophy as well as the global consumer base, from the premier designer level through to mass distribution, across all demographic and geographic borders.

Throughout his career he has founded, created, and contributed to the evolution and growth of American companies that embrace this country’s unique history and integrity, with over-arching brand concepts, innovative thinking, and profound product expertise.

A graduate of Philadelphia University, with a Degree in Textile Technology, Eric was recruited right off the campus by Ralph Lauren, to become directly responsible for design, development, quality assurance and product finishing for new denim and leather goods, with the goal to fulfill Ralph’s vision of a vintage-inspired, antique-looking men’s line of jeans.

During this time, he created a ground-breaking method to achieve this unique look and was issued a 1997 Inventor patent. From there, he became the right hand to Ralph for this initiative and was one of a handful of individuals who ultimately became the founding team (concept through execution) for RRL (Double RL). The collection today, now spans multiple categories of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel, accessories, and home furnishings with Americana roots.

After the launch of RRL, Eric was recruited directly by Mickey Drexler at The Gap, when the brand was truly in its heyday. There, he worked closely with leadership to lead the conceptual inspiration and development of product for all the denim-centric full apparel lifestyle collections for Gap 1969, Gap Kids and Old Navy.

Since that time, he has launched his own brand as owner, co-founder and creative director for Jean Shop (receiving numerous accolades from such publications as: GQ: “Jean Shop is the Cristal of the denim world and one of the top 100 stores in the country” - New York Magazine: "The Best Jean store in New York" - Gotham Magazine: “The Cream of the Crop” and “The best denim....Period” - Zagat: “Tom Ford is to the Men’s Suit what Jean Shop is to Jeans” - Men’s Brand Magazine Japan: “One of the top ten brands in the world” etc.

In 2019 Eric joined Vidalia Mills as a consultant for this new start up denim mill in Louisiana. Eric made a historic transaction and purchased all 46 of the Vintage Cone White Oak selvedge looms that were decommissioned 2 years earlier, these are the most historic looms in the world. Eric was very involved with BASF e3 cotton innovation.

In 2020 Eric used his 30 years of manufacturing knowledge and relationships around the world to quickly pivot and begin manufacturing PPE gowns and masks for NY State, MD Anderson hospital system, Cleveland Clinic, and many direct-to-consumer brands.

He is the licensee of Michael Strahan denim collection at Men’s Warehouse and has also consulted with various brands around the world on diverse projects, not only American brands but for overseas brands looking to create product for the American market (both on the “licensee” and “licensor” sides of business alliances).

Eric is a great leader with tremendous personal integrity and a genuine passion for what he does. He is a profound listener as well as an excellent influencer, with an unassuming but truly engaging approach to nurturing partnerships that will create a foundation, not only for an authentic creative vision, but for sustainable brand equity.
